18 Oct  12   5th European Conference on ICT for Transport Logistics (ECITL 2012)

We are pleased to announce the 5th European Conference on ICT for Transport Logistics (ECITL '12) on November 7-9, 2012 in Gothenburg, Sweden . This year's conference will focus on " Smart Freight to enable sustainable logistics solutions" and will highlight innovations and applications in this area.

The conference aims to close the gap between research and innovation and the logistics industry , moving research results into real world innovation and driving the competitiveness of European companies in the transport logistics sector. This year's ECITL features an academic session on Wednesday and a two-day industrial session on Thursday and Friday. Research and Industry alike are invited to propose interesting contributions to this year's ECITL line-up.

The event is coordinated by Chalmers University and the University of Applied Sciences, Vorarlberg. EU funded projects dealing with topics in transport logistics like iCargo, e-Freight, CO3 and Cassandra support the conference. The target audience includes everybody involved in logistics planning and operations, e.g., logistics operators, shippers, industry, infrastructure providers and authorities. Additional and up-to-date information about the event, e.g., detailed venue information and a conference program can be found on the conference website: www.ecitl.eu .

The SUPPORT project was one of a number of EU funded projects that co-organised the e-Freight 2012 conference, held in Delft 9-10th May 2012, to develop the vision for a paper-free, electronic flow of information associating the physical flow of goods with a paperless trail built by Information and Communication Technologies.

The event was a scientific conference combined with a business viewpoint and a scientific committee with representatives of Newcastle University, Technical University Delft, Erasmus University of Rotterdam, and City University London. The conference was attended by 112 delegates from 22 countries, representing academia, research organisations, policy makers and industry.
